One of these "stars" is the "fish-hook" ant which you see above.

This ant grows to 1.5 cm in length. They get the name "fish-hook" from the fact that when a predator attacks their nest these ants grab each other and this makes it more difficult for a predator to plunder or destroy their nest! Anteaters beware!
