Results from recent chess tournaments

Here are some results from chess tournaments which have taken place around the world in the last
weeks:

2nd Pfalz Open
---------------
The second Pfalz Open chess tournament took place in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse Germany. GM Sergei Tiviakov won the tournament with a score of 7 points (9 round event). The official tournament website is: http://www.pfalzopen.de

Championship of the Czech Republic
------------------------------------
The Czech Republic chess championship was held in Decin, Czech Republic from February 10-20th. In a surprise, International Master Pavel Simacek, (elo 2493) won the championship crown over GM Robert Cvek (elo 2531) on a tie-break. Both had finished the tournament with scores of 7 points. 7th Nancy International Chess Festival
---------------------------------------
The 7th International Chess Festival took place in Nancy France from February 16th-22nd . The festival had tournaments for every ability level. In the top "A" Tournament, GM Pentala Harikrishna of India (elo 2673) won the tournament with a score of 7 points (9 rounds). The official tournament website is at: http://echecs54.free.fr/

Bunratty Chess Festival
-------------------------
The Bunratty Chess Festival was held in Bunratty, Ireland from February 20-22nd with GM Peter Svidler winning the top "Masters" section with a score of 7 points (9 rounds). GM's Lalic, Jones,Wells and Baburin also participated. The official tournament website is: http://www.bunrattychess.com/

The Noteboom Memorial
--------------------------

The Noteboom Memorial chess tournament took place from February 20th-22nd 2009 in GM Yuri Solodovnichenko edged GM Friso Nijboer on a tie-break to win the event.
